The head of the Majlis of the Sumgait unit of the movement REAL Hafiz Babali on Saturday was arrested and taken to the fourth branch of the Sumgayit City Police Department. Turan was told by Babali himself.
This happened in the 34th quarter of Sumgait, when Babali was distributing printed materials related to the movement REAL, particularly referral of the imprisoned leader of the organization Ilgar Mamedov in anticipation of the presidential elections of 2013, and leaflets about the program of the movement, which is currently being transformed into a political party.
Babali was detained by the post-patrol police and taken to the fourth police station.
"I was told in the department that I supposedly was forcibly handing out leaflets to citizens. I pointed out that the distribution of printed materials in order to familiarize citizens with the program and objectives of our movement is not against the law. People are willing to accept these materials and there was no coercion. The materials presented REAL's views concerning the state system of Azerbaijan, the transition to a parliamentary republic, and the benefits of this model. I was held there for about 4 hours and I was released under a written obligation that on May 18, I would again come to the police," said Babali.
Note that Babali is also the editor of the economic news bulletin of Turan IA. -06B--
