The law on "Freedom of religion" and "media" tightens
On Wednesday, the regular meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights considered the amendments to the law "On freedom of religion". According to parliamentary sources, the amendments are restrictive and provide the elimination of religious organizations accused of extremism. It is not reported how will be evaluated belonging to extremism, and what will be considered extremism.
At the same time the committee members discussed the amendments to the law "On mass media", according to which the information in the media about operations against religious extremism should be covered by means determined by the power body, carrying out such an operation. Both amendments will be discussed at the plenary session of the Parliament. -02D-

Military expert and regular on state television channels, Adalat Verdiyev, has been accused of a serious crime—disclosure of military secrets. According to the charge (Article 308 of the Criminal Code), if the accused can prove the disclosure was unintentional, they may face 3 to 7 years in prison.
