The lawyer accused the "Azerpocht" of sabotage
The state postal service "Azerpocht" deliberately lost the letter to the European Court of Human Rights with the correspondence about the case of the arrested activist Bajram Mamedov.

"According to the electronic control system, we have found that a simple letter sent on the same day has reached the ECHR, but the complaint of Bayram Mamedov is deliberately delayed, and is not in the system," the lawyer said.
In this connection, the lawyer will raise the issue of infringement Mamedov’s righst under the Article 34 (right of individual petition) of the European Convention. According to the lawyer, the loss of letters addressed to the ECHR has become a new method of the Azerbaijani authorities, and urged human rights activists put the issue to international organizations. In turn, the deputy head of the "Azerpocht" Mubariz Jalilov told Turan, that there can be a talk about the loss or delay of the letter. Giyas Ibrahimov and Bayram Mammadov were arrested on May 10 on charges of drug trafficking. However, they stated that the real reason for their arrest became graffiti on the monument to Heydar Aliyev: "Congratulations on the slaves day!" and "Down with the system!".
The organization Amnesty International recognized the activists as "prisoners of conscience".On 25 October Ibrahimov was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The trial in the case of Bayramov is ongoing.-03C-
