The opening ceremony of the world championship in judo
Baku / 09/21/18 / Turan: Today, with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev, the National Gymnastic Arena hosted the opening ceremony of the World Judo Championship.
In his speech, Aliyev spoke about the history, culture of Azerbaijan, the development of sport and judo.
Presidents of the national and international federation of judo - Rovnag Abdullayev and Marois Wieser also spoke at the ceremony. The world championship in judo is held for the first time.
Fights at the competitions began yesterday. 758 judoists participate in the championship (460 men, 298 women) from 125 countries. The championship will end with team competitions on September 27.-- 05D6-
