The place of detention of Islamist is unknown
For 10 days, there has been no information on the fate of the head of the Astara District Organization of the Islamic Party (AIP), Famil Shukurov who was detained on 19th February.
This Archivan village resident was detained in connection with the protest of the villagers which blocked the Lankaran-Astara highway on 19th February in protest against the abuse of local people in the social network Odnoklassniki.ru. The participants of the rally demanded the punishment of the perpetrators.
Police dispersed the action, detaining several of its members. According to the lawyer Anar Gasymly, since 19th February there has been no information on the whereabouts of Shukurov or the charges against him.
According to him, the police responded to his requests that Shukurov is not contained in Astara.
According to Gasymly, it is also unclear as to the fate of several other detainees from Archivan. -06B-
