The prosecutor offered to condemn P. Hashimli to nine years in prison
At the trial in the case of journalist Parviz Hashimli prosecutor made a closing speech. The prosecutor offered to find Hashimli and second defendant in the case, Tavakkul Gurbanov, guilty on all three Articles: 206.3.2 (smuggling by prior agreement);
228.2.1 (illegal purchase, transfer , sale, storage , transportation or carrying of weapons and ammunition); 228.2.2 (illegal purchase, transfer, sale, possession of weapons and ammunition , committed repeatedly,) and to sentence them to nine years of imprisonment.
Hashimli and his family negatively accepted the speech of prosecutor. They began to curse Gurbanov for participation in provocations against the journalist. The hearing has been adjourned, and then defense will perform. Hashimli himself said that it would make a speech at the next trial.
* Parviz Hashimli was arrested by the MNS on September 17, 2013. In March, the sentence was extended for another three months. He is accused of smuggling (Article 206.3.2 ) and illegal possession of weapons (Article 228.2.1) Journalist pleaded not guilty, and said that during investigation he was made testify against some officials allegedly financing the opposition; he was ordered to testify against the head of the Popular Front Party, Ali Kerimli. -16B06-
