The prosecutor offeres to condemn Seymour Hazy for six years
At today’s trial in the case of the journalist Seymour Hazy in the Absheron district court prosecutor suggested to sentence Hazi to six years in prison, and the second defendant - Hasanov Maharram to nine months, according to the lawyer Adil Ismailov.
The next court hearing is scheduled for January 27, at which lawyers and defendants should be given the floor. The lawyer did not exclude that on this day s sentence will be passed
Protection believes that a provocation was planned against Hazi, and journalists are persecuted for their professional activities.
On August 29, 2014 at a bus stop Muharram Hasanov came to the journalist and insulted him, asking him not to write in to Facebook. Then he lashed out with his fists on Hazy, and began to beat him. To protect himself Hazy hit the assailant with a bottle in his hand. Immediately the police came, delayed Hazy, and took him to the police.
Hazy Seymour is one of the leading analysts of the opposition newspaper "Azadlig", as well as the announcer of the "Azerbaijan Saat" online TV, which sharply criticizes government of the country.—1606D-
