The rally is canceled, but the requirement for the resignation of Defense Minister still in force

The Public Association of Reserve Officers postponed the rally scheduled for February 5 in protest against the leadership of the Defense Ministry.

As the head of the NGO Yashar Jafarli said, the meeting was postponed indefinitely given the tense socio-political situation created by the protests in Baku and in the regions.

The rally was timed to the 18th anniversary of the appointment of the head of the Ministry of Defense Safar Abiyev.

Despite the postponement of the rally, the campaign to collect signatures for the resignation Abiyev will continue.

The action was planned under the slogan: "No to soldier deaths," "Put an end to corruption and bribery in the army," "Holiday pay for the reserve officers!"

"All soldiers should receive apartments," "Do not embezzle the money of veterans," "Return triple wages," "Immediately execute judgments," "Send Safar Abiyev and Najmeddin Sadigov to rest," "Shame to privatizers of the army!" "The people and the army are one," etc.    -03B06-
