The second half of December will be colder than the first
Baku/15.12.18/Turan: Unstable weather is expected in Azerbaijan in the second half of December with frequent precipitation, sometimes intense. The director of the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Umaira Taghiyeva said this at a press conference on Friday.
According to her, in the first half of December, the air temperature in Azerbaijan exceeded the climatic norm by 2-3 degrees. At the same time, the amount of precipitation was only 33-48% of the climatic norm.
However, the second half of the month will be colder, the air temperature will drop, the weather will often be rainy and windy.
As a result of the strengthening the north wind, on Sunday, the 16th, the air temperature will drop sharply, and on the 17th it will be + 4 + 6 degrees.
On some days of the third decade of the month, precipitations can become intense.
In general, weather forecasters predict that the climatic norm will exceed by 0.5-1.0 degrees. This means a low probability of frosty winter.
At the same time, Arctic air masses will come periodically, lowering the air temperature. However, days with mild weather will prevail over cold and frosty.
In Baku and Absheron in winter, the average air temperature is 3.2 degrees Celsius.
The moderate winter in the capital is due to the relief and influence of the Caspian Sea.
Therefore, severe frosts are not characteristic for Absheron, said the country's chief meteorologist. -06D--
