The struggle with traffic violations
The President has signed an order, which could revolutionize the struggle to both reduce and respond to road accidents.
There has been a recent increase in the number of accidents caused by drunk drivers and speeding. In order to address the causes of these accidents, as well as to combat corruption in their investigation and to improve road traffic, a number of measures will be taken.
The Presidential Administration has been tasked in the next two months to develop rules for driver exams and increase transparency in this area.
The punishment for committing accidents drunk or without a license will be increased.
The Cabinet of Ministers has been tasked in the next month to adopt provisions of the Traffic Act, according to which 25% of fines shall be credited to the salary of the traffic police.
The Interior Ministry has been tasked in the next month to improve the rules of car inspection and report this to the Head of State, and to maintain order and fairness in the investigation of the causes of road traffic accidents.
The Ministry of Justice is to address deficiencies in the conduct of examinations of accidents and punish those responsible.
The Attorney General's Office is recommended to eliminate irregularities in the implementation of laws and conduct in investigations. It has to provide an objective examination to establish the degree of harm suffered in an accident and bring to justice those breaking the law, strengthen the disclosure of fatal accidents, and bring to justice experts who committed abuses and corruption in the investigation of these cases.
The Supreme Court is recommended to ensure the objectivity of decisions when considering traffic accidents. -02D-
