The Supreme Court rejected the appeal of the PFPA activist
Baku / 13.02.19 / Turan: The Supreme Court of Azerbaijan today rejected the cassation appeal of a convicted member of the youth committee of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), FuadAhmedli.
The father of the activist Zafar Ahmedov told Turan that the complaint was filed against the refusal of the court of first instance and the appellate court to commute the sentence and transfer Fuad to a settlement colony in connection with the serving of one third of the term. Ahmedli has already served more than half of the term.
* Fuad Ahmedli was arrested on August 17, 2018, on a false accusation of "violating the norms of the law on operational investigative activities," in particular, the dissemination of personal data of Azerfon mobile communication users. In addition, he was accused of abuse of office.
On June 16, 2017, Ahmedli was sentenced to 4 years in prison. On August 17, the appellate court upheld the verdict. Ahmedli recognized as a political prisoner.-03B06-
