Baku/22.10.21/Turan: The term for Urfan Mammadov, convicted in 2018 to 18 years of imprisonment for the Ganja events, was reduced to 5 years, said his  lawyer Ganga Ibragimov. According to him, on October 22, the Supreme Court considered the cassation appeal and excluded Article 307.3 (not reporting a serious crime) from the charges.

* In July 2018, an attempt was made on the life of the head of the city Elmar Veliyev in Ganja. The population of the city actually expressed support for this, going out to a protest rally and condemning the tyranny of Veliyev. During clashes with the police, two officers were killed. Authorities have arrested dozens of people, accusing religious radicals of the riots. During several trials, more than 70 people were convicted. -0-
