Thickness of Snow Cover in Mountains of Azerbaijan Reaches 20 Cm
Baku / 04.10.17 / Turan: Over the past day, heavy precipitation fell over virtually the entire territory of Azerbaijan, in the mountainous areas as snow, according to the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology of Azerbaijan.
The thickness of the snow cover in Khinalig and Laza located on the slopes of the Greater Caucasus reached 13 and 3 cm, respectively, and in Lerik in the Talysh Mountains it was 10-20 cm. In other areas, there were rainfalls.
In Baku and Absheron, the amount of precipitation was 8-59 mm, Lankaran-Astara - 22-91 mm, the Greater Caucasus - 4-20 mm, Central Lowlands - 3-18 mm, the Lesser Caucasus - 9-27 mm, Gazakh-Gandja - 2-9 mm, and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic - 3-15 mm.
According to the forecasts of the international meteorological services, since Thursday the precipitation in Azerbaijan will cease, and the temperature will gradually increase by several degrees compared to the previous days. -06D--
