Three more PFPA activists are accused
Baku / 21.07.20 / Turan: On July 21, an activist of the Sabunchi district branch of the Popular Front Party, Mahabbat Nagiyev, was detained and taken to the Investigation Department of the General Prosecutor's Office. Today, the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office brought criminal charges against PFPA activists Nijat Abdullayev, Baba Suleimanov and Jeyhun Novruzov. They were brought in as defendants in a criminal case about an incident during a demonstration on the night of July 15 in front of the Milli Majlis.
These activists were taken to courts, where decisions on their arrest are expected to be passed, according to the PPFA. So far, eight PFPA activists have been charged under the Articles 186.2.1 of the Criminal Code (intentional destruction or damage to property); 233 (organization or active participation in riots); 315 (resistance to government officials).
After July 15, 22 activists of the party were detained and interrogated, charges were brought against 8 of them, seven were released, the fate of the rest is still unknown. “There is no information about 7 activists yet, we do not know what happened to them and where they are. They are not given the opportunity to contact their relatives and lawyers,” a party representative said. The Popular Front Party considers these arrests absolutely unreasonable and an order of the authorities. -03B-
