Tofig Yagublu ends dry hunger strike, but still refuses to eat
Baku / 15.01.23 / Turan: On January 15, opposition politician Tofig Yagublu, who is serving an administrative sentence in the form of arrest, stopped a dry hunger strike. However, he continues to refuse to eat.
On January 15, Yagubl was allowed to see his daughter, Nigar Hazi, and the doctor, professor Adil Geybullu, who was attracted by the family of the politician.
On January 14, Yagublu went on a dry hunger strike, in protest against the refusal to meet his daughter.
Today, after meeting with his daughter, he stopped the dry hunger strike, but still refuses to eat, Hazi wrote on facebook.
Dr. Geibulla, in turn, told Turan that he examined Yagublu on January 15.
“Hemodynamic parameters are stable. Blood pressure 120/80, stable. Saturation is 98 percent, heart rate is 95 beats per minute. He is sociable, can speak, restored water intake. We were with his daughter and he drank several glasses of water with us. I gave him a high dose infusion of a blood thinner to avoid thrombosis. Tofig Yagublu continues his hunger strike. He is under medical supervision,” Geybulla said.
Meanwhile, the hunger strike of solidarity with Yagublu continues.
On January 15, 13 people went on a hunger strike at the headquarters of the Musavat party, the protesters themselves said.
Another 4 activists are on hunger strike in Agdash region.
In addition, Tofig Yagublu's wife Maya Yagublu continues her hunger strike for the 9th day.
Thus, 18 people participate in the solidarity action on January 15.
* Tofig Yagublu, a member of the National Council of Democratic Forces and the Musavat Party, was detained on December 23 during a protest action in the center of Baku demanding the release of public activist Bakhtiyar Hajiyev.
On the same day, the Sabail court arrested him for 30 days on charges of petty hooliganism and insubordination to the police. On January 5, the Baku Court of Appeal upheld this decision. In protest, Yagublu went on a hunger strike. On the seventh day of the hunger strike, Yagublu was transferred to Baku Hospital No. 6. -03B06-
