Tofig Yagublu was released after the expiration of the term of arrest

Baku/22.01.23/Turan: At the end of a 30-day administrative arrest, opposition politician Tofig Yagublu was released on the morning of January 22. For 17 days of his sentence, Yagublu went on a hunger strike, protesting against the illegal arrest and violation of his rights in the detention center. On the seventh day of the hunger strike, he was transferred to a civilian hospital, but was in police custody.

Having been released, Yagublu first of all went to the headquarters of the Musavat party, where a hunger strike of solidarity with him was taking place.

Thanking the protesters for their solidarity and dedication, Yagublu urged them to stop the hunger strike.

Thus, the hunger strike of solidarity in Musavat, which had been held since January 9, was completed.

The politician's wife, Maya Yagublu, who refused to eat on January 7, also stopped her hunger strike today.

* Tofig Yagublu, a member of the National Council of Democratic Forces and the Musavat Party, was detained on December 23 during a protest action in the center of Baku demanding the release of public activist Bakhtiyar Hajiyev.

On the same day, the Sabail court arrested him for 30 days on charges of petty hooliganism and insubordination to the police. On January 5, the Baku Court of Appeal upheld this decision. In protest, Yagublu went on a hunger strike. On the seventh day of the hunger strike, Yagublu was transferred to Baku Hospital No. 6. -03B06-
