Trial in the case of the activist "Musavat"
Baku/07.05.19/Turan: Regular trial in the case of Azad Hasanov, member of Musavat party activist Azad Hasanov, took place in the Baku Serious Crimes Court chaired by Irada Hasanova.
He was detained in October 2018 immediately after returning from Lithuania, where he lived in political emigration for 4 years. In Baku, he was charged under Art. 234.4.3 (drug trafficking on a large scale) of the Criminal Code.
At the last meeting, lawyer Osman Kazimov asked the court to question as a witness Fikret Gasimov, an employee of the Baku City Main Police Department, who, according to the defense, did not allow Hasanov to contact his relatives and report on the arrest. In addition, the lawyer asked me to send a request to the service of the MIA "102" and the Prosecutor General"s Office, whose hotline was called by Hasanov"s relatives, trying to find out his whereabouts.
The court, having conferred on the spot, granted the petition.
The lawyer, Kazimov, filed another petition with the court - about bringing the GUPB registration book to the court in order to check whether the witness Alirbekov Beyukbey entered the building on the day of Hasanov"s arrest.
The court, having conferred, decided to send a request to the GUPB, in response to which there should be a photo of the pages of the registration book for the specified number.
