Twenty one thousand and seven hundred sixty four candidates in municipalities
Twenty one thousand and seven hundred sixty four candidates have been nominated to participate in the upcoming municipal elections on December 23 in 1546 municipalities, said the head of the CEC Public Relations Shaheen Asadli; 17,463 applicants have received petitions, and 5837 have already returned them with the signatures of voters. Nominations of 1724 people have have been registered. Among the candidates there are 15,369 men and 6,395 women; 17,601 candidates have higher education.
13,488 candidates have been nominated by parties, including the "Yeni Azerbaijan", "Fatherland", Civil Solidarity, "Umid" and others. Elections will be held in 118 constituencies. In seven constituencies which are under occupation, the elections will not be held. Total 15,035 members of election commissions will be elected.
The term of appeal to the election commissions on the nominees expires on 22 November.-03B-
