Baku / 03.10.18 / Turan: Two employees of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan were convicted of smuggling and were dismissed from their posts. A service check is being conducted, and the results will be transferred to the prosecutor's office, the report of the Customs Committee said.
According to the Committee"s press release, the Azerbaijani citizen Nazim Mukhtarov, who arrived by the Dubai-Baku flight, was detained after passing through the customs border, and his cabin baggage was inspected. Seventy-nine undeclared Iphone mobile phones, two Samsung mobile phones, as well as headphones, adapters and memory cards were found in his luggage.
In the course of the investigation, it was established that Mukhtarov had made a deal with the inspector of the General Administration of Customs on air transport, Ariz Huseynli, on the transportation of smuggled goods through customs.
