Baku/06.12.22/Turan: Members of the Muslim Unity Movement  (MUM) Nijat Aliyev and Samir Babayev were arrested for 4 and 2 months, respectively. Charged with drug trafficking. They were informed by their relatives.

Relatives do not have information specifically what charges were brought against the accused.

Aliyev was detained on December 1, and Babayev on December 2.

Earlier, on November 23, another MUM activist, Shahin Gadirli, was also arrested on charges of drug trafficking.

The MUM considers the arrests of three members of the movement in a short time to be arbitrariness and lawlessness. The organization demanded to put an end to illegal arrests, to release all their activists unjustly imprisoned.

MUM leader Tale Bagirzade was sentenced to 20 years on charges of attempting to forcibly change the state system. Bagirzade and his supporters did not hide their sympathy for the Iranian regime. --03B06--
