Two tax officers arrested while accepting a bribe
Baku / 24.08.20 / Turan: Employees of the Office of the Prosecutor General's Office for Combating Corruption arrested two employees of the tax service while receiving a bribe. Thus, the senior tax inspector of the Operational Control Department of the Main Directorate for Work with Small Business, Azer Allahverdiyev, and the inspector of the Narimanov Department of the same service, Jahid Tairov, were detained while receiving 6,000 manats from the owner of the bakery. The money was transferred in order to avoid a tax audit this year
Alawsuit has been filed on the fact, Allahverdiev and Tairov were arrested on charges of accepting a bribe by an organized group.
The investigation established that the same tax authorities had previously extorted money from the owner of the bakery in order not to conduct an audit.
On August 21, the preliminary investigation was completed and sent to the Baku Serious Crimes Court, the Prosecutor General's Office said. -02D-
