Vaccination from COVID-19 in Azerbaijan to Start on January 18
Baku/16.01.21/Turan: Vaccination from COVID-19 in Azerbaijan will begin on January 18. This was announced at today's briefing of the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan.
At the first stage, vaccination will cover health workers, people over 65 years of age and personnel involved by law enforcement agencies in anti-epidemic measures.
Further, a group of citizens of high risk from a medical point of view will be vaccinated:
persons with chronic respiratory diseases, hemodialysis, diabetes, and obesity;
persons aged 50 and over who have at least one chronic disease;
workers in the field of education and social security, employees of other areas who are in direct contact with the population, etc.
Azerbaijan has acquired 2 million doses of CoronaVac vaccine from SinoVac. In total, it has ordered 4 million doses of vaccines from the company. The effectiveness of the CoronaVac vaccine is 91.25%, Teymur Musayev, a spokesman for the Ministry of Health, said at a briefing. -0-
