Vets report of success control of brucellosis

Last year, the State Veterinary Service (SVS) vaccinated against rabies in animals, caused some alarming information about the possible spread of the disease, said the chief  of the SVS ,Siala Rustamova  at meeting in that office on the results of the previous year. According to her, laboratory studies were made last year on 56 titles. Only 18 of them have been positive. Therefore  necessary preventive measures in those areas  from where the samples were sent, were taken.  As a result, the disease was promptly warned.

 Rustamova also reported that the investigation conducted in the last three years  showed  the  reduce the percentage brucellosis. True, completely problems in this area have not been eliminated, she said. "If in 2002-2003 brucellosis infected 650-700 people, is now shifting to the extent reduced by 50%. However, this does not satisfy us, because we want this percentage dropped to zero, "said Rustamova.

She also noted that in 2012 avian influenza was not detected in  Azerbaijan. Last year it  four monitoring were held. Over six thousand samples of poultry, migratory and wild birds have been sent to the Republican  laboratory, said Rustamov. -03D04-
