What caused the rise in price of the Hajj pilgrimage?
Baku/08.06.22/Turan: This year, the Hajj pilgrimage for Azerbaijani citizens costs 9,016 manats ($5,356). Compared to 2019, when the last pilgrimage took place, the price has increased by $1,206.
The organizer of the Hajj, the Caucasian Muslims Office, does not explain what is the reason for such a significant rise in price. However, given the overall increase in airfare in all directions, it can be assumed that this is the main reason.
At the same time, it became known about the increase in many services from the host side - the authorities of Saudi Arabia.
In addition, the Saudis have significantly reduced the quota of pilgrims from all countries. In Azerbaijan, the quota has been almost halved.
In 2020 and 2021, the Hajj was not held due to the coronavirus pandemic. --05D--
