Wind storm damaged the western region
On March 17th, late in the evening, a wind storm caused significant damage to residential and commercial buildings in the Zagatala, Gakh and Balakan regions. According to Turan's regional correspondent with reference to the commission of MOE, the wind storm tore off roofs in the Jar village school, and from a local boarding school and a kindergarten in the city of Lankaran .
The wind tore the roofs off houses in the villages of Zilban, Yukhari Cardaqlar and Mukhakh. It tore covers and damaged up to a dozen cars, felled dozens of large tree and power lines and damaged many villages and areas of the city that remain without electricity. Local authorities, together with MOE, are taking measures to eliminate the consequences of the disaster.
Similar damage to dozens of homes was caused In Gakh, in the city and in several villages .
In Balakan it felled the pillars of 50 high voltage power lines, interrupting the electricity supply to dozens of villages .
