Women dismissed from "Azerigaz" are dissatisfied
Baku/27.05.14/Turan : About 20 women dismissed due the reduction from the "Azerigaz" , held a press-conference on Tuesday in the Company to Protect the Rights of Women. They all are employees of the gas-exploitation sites of the capital. In total, 900 women working in the above system were dismissed. Moreover, the dismissal affects only women, and this process have not completed yet.
According to the complainants, they are fired on March 27 in connection with the reconstruction of operational areas. They promise to provide with job, but this has not yet happened. At the same time, women are offered to resign on their own, promising compensation in the amount of five salaries.
The dismissed tried to meet with the leadership of "Azerigaz", but in vain. Production Association deputy chairman Ruslan Aliyev told the women that "the upper structures are aware about it," and all instructions come from there. "We do not understand what is happening. Men are not dismissed because they are heads of families. But there are women who have lost their husbands or have sick children or husbands," said one of the dismissed women Arzu Najmeddinova.
Women regard their dismissal as arbitrariness. They applied to the presidential administration, to the Ombudsman, but received no reply. They are preparing to appeal the dismissal through courts. -05C04-

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
