Workers Accuse Chief of Police
A resident of the Ujar region Ilyas Ahmadov addressed the media with a complaint against the police chief of Oguz Tahir Guliyev, alleging fraud.
According to Ahmadov, from January to June this year, he, along with his father and two brothers, as well as another 10 workers conducted construction work in the hotel-restaurant Golden Fish, which is in the Barda region and belongs to the chief of police (at that time Tahir Guliyev led police of the Ujar region).
Guliyev had to pay Ahmadov 7,250 manat for the work, but refused to do so, threatening to arrest the Ahmadovs.
The Ahmadovs family was forced to sell their car (for 5,500 manats) to pay ten workers.
According to Ilyas Ahmadov, the hotel-restaurant is located in an area of 5 hectares of land, where several buildings, 15 cottages, gazebos and so on were built.
According to the complainants, the police chief is quite a rich man and owns a flock of 10,000 sheep and two broiler farms in Barda.
Ilyas Ahmadov appealed to the Head of State and the Minister of Internal Affairs Ramil Usubov to return the money owed to his family. However, this did not give results.
Turan was unable to obtain comment from Tahir Guliyev.
The press service of the Interior Ministry told Turan that if the complaint was sent to the Minister, it is sure to be considered. -05D04-
