Ikram Rahimov Stopped Hunger Strike - Prison Service
Baku / 05.09.19 / Turan: Journalist Ikram Rahimov on the 30th day stopped the hunger strike in the Baku pre-trial detention center No. 1. This was reported by the Azerbaijani Prison Service on the morning of September 5.
The agency denies reports that Rahimov is in critical condition after a month's hunger strike.
"The prison service notes that the convict Ikram Rahimov stopped the hunger strike and started eating. He has no health problems," the press release said.
Members of the Rahimov family have not yet confirmed information about the suspension of the hunger strike. "We have no such information. Ikram has not yet called," a member of his family told Turan.

On August 7, a preliminary hearing was held in the Baku Court of Appeal in the case of Rahimov. The defense requested a second judicial investigation and new interrogations of witnesses and victims due to falsification of their testimonies in the trial court.
