Iranian Foreign Minister heads for Baku to make peace
Baku/20.12.21/Turan: Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdullahian will visit Baku this weekend. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh announced this at a briefing on Monday.
According to him, the purpose of the visit is to discuss cooperation in the trade sphere. It has to be kept in mind that Iran, Azerbaijan and Georgia reached an agreement this week and launched a new transport corridor from the Persian Gulf to the Bulgarian ports on the Black Sea.
Note that this transport corridor will eliminate the problem of Iranian cargo deliveries to Europe, as well as ensure the transit of goods from India, Pakistan and other countries of the region to Europe.
However, there is no doubt that the main topic of discussions in Baku will be the situation in bilateral relations which have seriously deteriorated after Tehran's attempts to exert pressure and intimidate Azerbaijan. The reason for the aggravation is the illegal trade of Iran with the Karabakh separatists. However, the Iranians failed to intimidate Azerbaijan by holding military exercises along the border between the two countries following which the Tehran regime decided to "make peace" with Azerbaijan.-O2B-

On Monday, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, who is currently on a working visit to Belgrade, was received by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. According to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs press service, during the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the "strategic partnership between the two countries" and emphasized the importance of mutual high-level visits.
