TƏBIB has stopped providing growth medicines to children in need

Baku/13.10.23/Turan: For 2 months now, the Joint Administration of Territorial Medical Units (TƏBIB) has not been giving expensive medicines to increase growth for free to children of low growth, the doctor Aydin Aliyev reported. 

Hundreds of other children in need of these drugs do not receive them for "unknown" reasons.

The doctor noted that one bottle of medicine should be injected into the child once a week. This means that parents have to buy these medicines for 800-1000 manats every month.

Children's growth hormone medications are produced by the pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk, Turan was told in TƏBIB. In 2020-2023, 1,500 children were provided with this drug.

However, due to the shortage of raw materials on the world market for the production of such drugs, the company stopped their supply two months ago.

TƏBIB noted that measures are being taken to solve the problem and from next month the Republican Endocrinology Center will provide supplies of medicines from another company. --06B--
