Minister of Culture as Censor of Artists
Baku / 18.10.17 / Turan: The Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev condemned the actors who took part in the opposition rally on October 7.
He expressed regret that "some people who received state awards" took part in anti-state protests.
This, according to Garayev, "does not correspond to the wealth of the inner world of an artist."
"If the state values artists, then they should respond in the same way. Therefore, the recent events are regrettable," the Minister said.
Recall that at the meeting of the National Council of Democratic Forces, the participants of the action included the Honored Artists of Azerbaijan Ilgar Jahangir and Aishad Mammadov and the actor Abbas Gahramanov. -06D--

Cultural heritage is often best understood through its vibrant expressions—be it food, music, dance, or the intricate details of traditional clothing. This notion was vividly brought to life at the fifth annual “FantazEU” Cultural Heritage Festival, organized by the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Azerbaijan. The festival’s centerpiece, an exhibition of European national costumes, offered visitors a unique glimpse into the historical and cultural tapestries of Europe while underscoring the unifying power of art and tradition.
