Samira Effendi will represent Azerbaijan at Eurovision 2020
Baku/28.02.20 / Turan: Samira Effendi will represent Azerbaijan at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in May this year in Rotterdam.
She was selected at a private casting among five applicants, the Public Television of Azerbaijan (ITV) reported on February 28.
Other candidates were Laman Dadasheva, Elvin Novruzov, Jabrail Rasulov and Riyad Abdulov.
Effendi was selected by voting. The performer is known to the audience for her strong vocals in the famous competitions “Yeni ulduz”, “Böyük Səhnə” (3rd place) and “Səs Azərbaycan” (3rd place).
In 2017, Samira Efendi won 3rd place at the Silk Way Star competition in Almaty, in 2019, she took part in the Voice of Nur-Sultan international competition.
The semi-finals of the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 will be held on May 12 and 14, and the final on May 16. The representative of Azerbaijan will perform in the second part of the first semi-final of the Eurovision 2020 contest. - 06D-
