R.Mirkadyrov: The weakening of the army is the weakening of Turkey
The main reason for the latest events in Turkey is instability and inconsistency of policy carried out for 14 years by the ruling Justice and Development Party, said in an interview with “Cetin Sual” political analyst Rauf Mirkadyrov. This policy has long aroused protests within the country and a lack of understanding among partners and allies of Turkey.
One of the indicators of such inconsistency Mirkadyrov called the Kurdish problem. After coming to power Erdogan acknowledged the existence of the Kurdish issue after decades of concealment of this issue, and announced the peaceful resolution of the issue.
This allowed the PKK militants to come down from the mountains and settle in the city, and the political wing of the organization - the Party of Peoples Equality, to get into Parliament.
However, a dramatic change in the attitude of Erdogan to this issue led to the fact that Turkey was faced with an even more brutal terror.
Another example is the struggle for a "violation of rights" of the faithful. Under the pretext of the equation rights Erdogan began to carry out a policy against the secular forces. He announced a policy of "zero problems with neighbors", but in practice this has led to a deterioration of relations with almost all neighbors. This inconsistency was in a relationship with the US and EU. Therefore, Mirkadyrov believes, shocks were inevitable.
In his view, now the Turkish authorities under the pretext of the fight against the rebellions have launched a campaign against all the undesirables. Under investigation are thousands of people. It is impossible to reveal such a number of enemies within a day or, it means that repression is carried out according to a predefined list of "unreliable". Unimaginable things are talking place, such as military lynching.
However, Mirkadyrov believes that the euphoria of victory will pass quickly, and the government will face a serious foreign policy problems. At the same time, Turkey cannot afford the weakening of the army against the background of the threat of Kurdish terrorism.
Without a strong army, Turkey would lose all its influence in the international arena and especially in the region.
As for the impact of recent developments on Azerbaijan, Mirkadyrov believes that the weakening of Ankara will affect Azerbaijan. Baku has already felt the effects of the deterioration in relations of Turkey with Israel and Russia.
The experts makes two conclusions from the events of the last days: the army should not interfere in politics under any pretext, and the government should be based on a stable democracy and the rule of law, to rule out military intervention in politics. "Revolutions and revolts lead to misery," the expert said. -06D--
