Why are believers considered agents?

Baku/23.06.22/Turan: The question of Taleh Bagirzade,  the leader of the “Muslim Union” Movement, who has been on a hunger strike in prison for more than 20 days, and several supporters of the Movement is one of the main topics on social networks.

According to Bagirzadeh and 11 other people who joined the hunger strike, during the interrogation by the police,  those who insulted Allah should be punished. The Ministry of Internal Affairs denies the accusations of the protesters, calling them slander.

There are people who believe that Taleh Bagirzade and his supporters are interested in creating religious tension in Azerbaijan by holding a hunger strike. They claim that Taleh Bagirzade and the “Muslim Unity” Movement serve the interests of Iran, and the go-ahead for the current hunger strike came from Tehran.

And human rights activists say that there has been a violation of human rights and that Taleh Bagirzade should be released. disputes between believers and atheists on social networks, as well as the possibility that Iran is instructing Bagirzade and his supporters in order to create religious tension in Azerbaijan,

Political observer Rauf Mirkadyrov comments on the disputes between believers and atheists on social networks, as well as the possibility that Iran is instructing Bagirzade and his supporters in order to create religious tension in Azerbaijan  in the “Difficult Question” program.

According to him, despite the Islamic doctrine does not welcome nationalism and relies on the ummah (the community of believers (ummat al-mu'minin, i.e. the entire Islamic world, regardless of countries, borders, nationalities, etc.) - Ed.), in practice, Sunnism politically is an emanation of Arab nationalism, and Shiism is Persian.

“Iran widely uses the religious factor in its policy. For Shiites (and Azerbaijan is no exception) Iran is almost a second Mecca,” the observer noted. Concerning the issue of the legality of the arrest of Taleh Bagirzade and his associates, Mirkadyrov said that this topic could become a subject of discussion if a normal investigation and normal trials were conducted in Azerbaijan.

“And then we could say – Yes, this is a mistake of the investigation. Or a miscarriage of justice. But this is not the case in Azerbaijan. Guilty or not, it doesn't matter. If necessary, they will “prove” that he is guilty. Are the police under pressure? Undoubtedly. We know how Tofig Yagublu beat himself,” the journalist said.

Mirkadyrov also drew attention to the fact that there is no spiritual leader in Azerbaijan. “Therefore, our believers, depending on the madhhab (the theological and legal school. In Sunnism - Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, Hanbali madhhabs, in Shiism the most common Jafirite madhhab (the state legal system of Iran - ed.)) bow to foreign religious centers, associated with them. And the impulses, theses and slogans coming from there are easily absorbed. Without a doubt, this is a threat to the Azerbaijani state,” the observer said, adding that some believers blindly believe everything that comes from these religious centers.

“Such people are potential agents of influence, and with their help, it is possible to influence the processes taking place in Azerbaijan. But among these believers there are also agents who are recruited and are engaged in espionage activities,” he said.

Returning to the issue of Taleh Bagirzade and the imprisoned members of the “Muslim Unity” Movement, Mirkadyrov said that  there is no doubt that  the rights of these people were violated; but at the same time,  very strong evidence is required  to claim that they are controlled from Iran.

“If there is such evidence, then Taleh Bagirzade and his associates should be punished to the fullest extent of the law,” the observer concluded.—0—
