AccessBank to Award AZN 2,400 to Three Journalists
CJSC AccessBank announces competition for journalists on "The Role of Microfinance in the economic development of Azerbaijan."
As reported in the bank, the competition will be made newspaper and magazine articles, news, television and radio programs, materials and information on the website, published or broadcast from August 18 to September 13, 2012 in the Azerbaijani and Russian languages. The closing date for entries is 15 September 2012.
Texts should be in A4 format, at least one page (5-10 thousand characters), font Times New Roman - 12, and TV spots for at least 3 minutes must be submitted on DVD.

All materials will be evaluated by an independent jury, which will include: the Head of the Baku office of the International Finance Corporation Alia Azimova, the Executive Director of Azerbaijan Microfinance Association Jala Hajiyeva, and the Head of the Micro Credit Department of AccessBank Tariel Ismailov.
The journalist, who takes the 1st place, will receive a cash prize of 1,000 manat, the 2nd place will receive 800 manat, and the 3rd place will be awarded 600 manat.
Information about the winners of the contest will be posted on the official website of AccessBank no later than 10 October 2012. - 15D-

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less.
