Activity in Property Market Fell by 10%
In 2016, Azerbaijan registered about 172 thousand rights on objects of real estate, of which 50 thousand accounted for the primary market, and the remaining 122 thousand - the secondary market. This is stated in the report of the State Committee for Property Affairs.
In the previous year, the real estate market was more active. Investors were issued 190.5 thousand extracts from the state register of real estate, including 148.4 thousand facts of the secondary market.
The most active year in terms of buying and selling real estate was 2014: 205.2 thousand real estate transactions were reported, including 147.2 thousand on the secondary market. ----08D

This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less.
