Advertising in Foreign Languages Allowed in Azerbaijan
President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on amendments to the law "On the state language of the Republic of Azerbaijan", according to which it is allowed to advertise in a foreign language from now on.
The law has been amended in Article 7.1-1, according to which another language can be used in addition to the Azerbaijani language in the text at the advertiser’s request.
In this case, the text in a foreign language has to be placed after the text in the state language, and the scale of the text has to be less than the scale of the text in Azerbaijani and it should not exceed one third of the total advertising scale. Trademarks and geographical indications in other languages have to be written in accordance with a form registered by the relevant executive authority. -71D-

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less. This robust reserve position reflects Azerbaijan's fiscal stability and the government’s strategic economic management.
