Agricultural producers will receive grants totaling 56.7 million manat
At the 7 August meeting of the National Commission on the provision of the state budget aid to agricultural producers, it was decided to allocate subsidies to land users in the total amount of 56,741,000 manat. It's about 4 million manat more than in 2011.
Agriculture Minister Ismet Abbasov told reporters that the grants are allocated in relation to the rise in price since 2007, the cost of fuel and lubricants. In accordance with the decision of the government for every hectare of land users receive 40 manat. This year, grants are available for the cultivation of 1,418,000 hectares. The aid is granted to 398,715 subjects, which is 8.4 thousand more than in 2011.
The minister said that by the end of this year, wheat and rice producers will receive an additional 40 manat for each hectare of land cultivated.
The National Commission also allocated 2,284,000 AZN for 50% preferential sale of fertilizers. These subsidies are in connection with the sale of 11,878 tons of fertilizers.
Regarding the effectiveness of available subsidies, Abasov said that it is reflected both by the growth of gross agricultural product (10.4%), and by the lower prices. The committee said that this year it was produced 2.7 million tons of cereals and legumes. At the same time the need for seed wheat is met by domestic production and yield per hectare has increased by 1.6%. The Minister said that in the coming years the country will be able to bring production capacity to 3.5 million tons of wheat, both due to higher yields and intensive production. - 08C-
