Between January and August of this year, inflation in the country was at an annual rate of 1.4%. At the same time in August, official statistics did not notice higher prices for consumer goods.
According to the SSC, the first eight months of this year, food prices have increased in comparison with the same period in 2013 by 0.8%, non-food products - 3.6%, and services - 0.4%.
In August compared with July, consumer prices on average remained unchanged. The food prices fell by 0.1%, and those for non-food goods and services did not change.
It is noteworthy that in parallel SCS reported 8.6% increase in August for production prices for annual plants by an average of 8.6%. This included cucumbers - 55.9%, tomatoes - 21.2%, beans - 24.4%, watermelons - 32.1%, etc. At the same time, official statistics recorded no change in retail prices for many of these products.
The Ministry of Agriculture recently issued a statement about the impact of the export of agricultural products in retail prices in the country. It stressed that "the change in prices has resulted in favorable circumstances for farmers: the price situation did not suit them at the beginning of the season. By late August, the market formed a kind of balance without affecting the interests of consumers, as the new prices were on the same level as that in August of 2013. --08B--
