Astana ratified agreement on Kazakhstan-China pipeline
Kazakhstan President has signed the law on ratification of the agreement between the Kazakhstan Republic and government of Chinese People’s Republic on cooperation, development and operation of the Kazakhstan-China oil pipeline, reported Novosti Kazakhstan news agency quoting press office Akordy.
Kazmunaigas national company on behalf of Kazakhstan government and Chinese National Oil and Gas Corporation on behalf of the Chinese government will be in charge of the development and operation of the oil pipeline.
The agreement on the main principles of cooperation on expanding and operation of the Kazakhstan-China oil pipeline has been signed by KazMunaiGas national company and CNPC during the meeting between Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev and CNPC President Chzhou Tsinpin in April 2013.
Ratification of the agreement will contribute to development of Kazakhstan’s fuel-energy complex, delivery of Kazakhstan’s oil to the oil refinery in Pavlodar city and strengthening energy safety in Kazakhstan by supplying the local market with the oil products and expanding capacity of the oil refineries in Pavlodar and Chimkent cities.
Radiotochka portal earlier reported that items of the document, which the parliament has passed, is contrary to the Kazakhstan’s legislation and even Constitution of the country.—0—

Data on Azerbaijan's oil exports for January-October 2024 reveals a significant drop in both volume and value compared to the same period last year, highlighting the challenges facing the oil-dependent economy. The country exported 495,484.05 tons of oil products worth $309.02 million, a decrease of 40.3% in value and 40.7% in volume compared to 2023, when exports totaled 925,225.07 tons worth $572.21 million.
