Azerbaijan increases export of berries
In the first half of this year Azerbaijan increases export of cherries by 4.8%. Berries are delivered in Russia and Kazakhstan. According to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee, by 1 July of this year, the export of cherries was 7544 tons. Customs records approximately 30% of these berries is exported. This year 7484 tons, or 98.6% of total exports of these berries were exported to Russia.
The increase in export volume affects the domestic prices of these berries. This season, the cost per a kilo of cherries was not less than 1.5 manat (last year 1 manat per 1 kg.)
In 2014, Azerbaijan produced 33,390 tons of cherries, which is by 3.5% more than in the previous year. About third of production (10.100 tons) are fruits from Khachmaz region. 08B

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met today with Ahmed Moallim Figi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, at the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry. This meeting followed a discussion held the previous day between Figi and Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov.
