AZERBAIJAN LOOKS FOR WAYS TO EXPORT FISH TO EUROPEAN UNION MARKET
The project has been realized since October 2008 under the patronage of Latvia"s and Netherlands Kingdom"s Food Quality Service with support of the State Service for Anti-monopoly policy and protecting the rights of consumers in the Azerbaijan"s Ministry of Economic development.
The project"s goal is to provide export of fish and fish products of local production to the EU"s market, improvement of professional training of employees working in this sphere, unification of local specialized legislation with relevant legal base, expansion of opportunities of the laboratory in the anti-monopoly State Service, and the increase of local specialists" activity level to the international standards level.
Total of 225 of Twining, TAIEX and Sigma type projects has been realized in the frameworks of `European Good Neighborhood Policy` Program.
According to the site of the Economic Development Ministry, Azerbaijan continues work for the expansion of fish and fish products export to the European Union"s markets. --17D-

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less. This robust reserve position reflects Azerbaijan's fiscal stability and the government’s strategic economic management.
