Azerigaz Registers 171,700 New Customers in 2016
The total number of customers of Azerigaz Production Association (the gas supply entity of SOCAR) was 2,004,857 as of January 1, 2017.
As reported by Azerigaz, in 2016 it registered 171,707 new customers of the population category. Of these, 40,817 customers were registered in Baku, Sumgait and the Absheron region, and 130,089 - in the regions of the country.
According to Azerigaz, as of 1 January 2017, 134,659 IDP families were provided with gas at preferential terms.
Free gas supply is also carried out to 406 mosques and other objects of religious values in Azerbaijan. -12D--

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
