Baku opens traditional exhibition-fair of beekeeping products
Baku/02.10.23/Turan: The 23rd exhibition-fair of beekeepers has been opened today in Baku on the square next to Ganjlik metro station, where 250 selected experts of this industry from 43 regions of the country offer 90 tonnes of honey and other beekeeping products to visitors.
Chairman of the board of "Agrarian Purchase and Supply" OJSC Adil Guliyev and chairman of the "Azerbaijani Beekeepers Association" Badraddin Khasratov spoke at the opening ceremony and wished beekeepers good luck. Meanwhile, the year was not so favourable for beekeeping. According to B. Khasratov, 3.500 tonnes of natural honey was pumped out this year, which is down by 2 times from the last year. This notwithstanding, the prices at the fair are not high and average 25-30 manats per 1kg.
Recall that at last year's fair beekeepers offered for sale 120 tonnes of honey and other bee products, of which 90 tonnes were sold, the Agriculture Ministry said.
The organisers of the traditional fair, which will last until 22 October, are the Ministry of Agriculture and the "Azerbaijani Beekeepers Association". -08B-
