Budget Structures Do Not Pay for EVRASCON
The delay in wages of Euro-Asian Construction Corporation EVRASCON has caused revolt. Employees of the company on September 9 blocked the highway Alat-Astara and held a protest in the Salyan region, demanding immediate payment of salaries that have not been paid since June this year.
A member of the Supervisory Board of EVRASCON Namik Kerimli told Turan that the problem arose from the failure of budget structures to fulfill their obligations on outsourcing contracts. This is mainly the Ministry of Transport and JSC Irrigation and Water Economy.
The corporation EVRASCON employs over 4,000 people, whose average monthly wage exceeds 500 manat. Thus, the debts for wages of workers are not less than 6 million manats.
Namig Kerimli said there are no other financial problems at the company. There are no serious problems in the implementation of road projects abroad (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Moldova). ----08B

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less.
