Central Bank Plans to Attract 200 Million Manat
At the deposit auction on March 31, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan plans to raise AZN 200 million.
The funds will be attracted for a period of 14 days, at a weighted average rate of 12.01% -14.99%.
Since June 2016, the Central Bank has started holding deposit auctions. According to international practice, the main purpose of deposit auctions is sterilization of the money supply. During the deposit auctions, the Central Bank accepts deposits of commercial banks for placement. ----71D

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less.
