Export of Azerbaijani Agricultural Goods Totaled $ 252 Million
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, by October 1, Azerbaijan exported agricultural goods worth $ 252 million (+ 31.9% to January-September of last year).
Judging by the article by the head of the Ministry, Heydar Asadov, in the official media, most of all the export of vegetables was raised - by 37.2%, while the export of fruits increased by 29.9%.
The growth was due to the fact that for the first time the export of rice, food and feed barley and millet, food beans, meat and dairy products was arranged.
Recall, the main importer of the local agricultural goods is the Russian Federation - 90% of the fruits and vegetables are exported there. Specific weight of Azerbaijan in this segment is 3.5% of vegetables and 2.7% of fruit (11th position among the countries). And 90% of exports are vegetables, including potatoes, and fruit.
This year it was possible to expand the geography of agricultural exports – besides Russia, the buyers are Iran, Iraq, the UAE, Turkey and Turkmenistan. --17D-
