First Tanker for Azerbaijani Company Launched in Russia
JSC Plant Red Sormovo (Nizhny Novgorod, part of United Shipbuilding Corporation, USC) launched the first tanker for the Azerbaijani Caspian Marine Services Limited, the press service of the Moscow representation of the shipyard reported.
The press release notes that the tanker was launched "almost at 100% readiness."
The first of the two tankers for Caspian Marine Services Limited has become the 20th in a row tanker of the RST27 project, built at the factory Red Sormovo, the press release says.
Note that in April this year, the factory Red Sormovo concluded contracts with Caspian Marine Services Limited for the construction and delivery of two tankers of the RST27 project. According to the contracts, the vessels will be delivered to the customer in 2016-2017.
Red Sormovo reported that the customer, CMS, operates a fleet of marine support vessels involved in oil and gas projects on the Caspian shelf.
RST27 tankers are designed for mixed (River-Sea) bulk transport of oil and oil products, including gasoline, ensuring the simultaneous transportation of two kinds of cargo. The overall length of the vessel is 140.85 m, the width is 16.7 m, the depth is 6 m, the deadweight in the river (at the draft of 3.6 m) is 5,378 tons, and in the sea (at the draft of 4.2 m) it is 6,980 tons.
