For six months, consumer prices rose by 1.2%

Inflation in Azerbaijan from January 1 to July 1 was 1.2% (+3.1% compared with the first half of 2012).

According to the review of the monetary policy for the first half of 2013 the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (http://cbar.az/assets/2916/PSI_2013_Q_2.pdf), the process did not go beyond the limit of the CBA. Average annual inflation in the first half of this year amounted to 2%.

In the first half of the year there was a higher average annual rate of growth in food prices (+3.8%) and services (3.3%). Non-food prices rose by 0.5%.

The Government of Azerbaijan for 2013 predicts an average annual inflation rate of 3.3%. Last year, the official average annual inflation rate was 1.1%. - 17D-
