Georgia increased Azerbaijani gas import by almost 21%
During 5 months, 2014 Georgia has imported from Azerbaijan 685,052 tons of natural gas in oil equivalent to the amount of $133.84 million, reads the report of the Georgian Statistical Committee.
Azerbaijan is the main supplier of this type of fuel to Georgia with a specific weight of 83.5% of total volume of import of the country in this category. According to the report, since early year Georgia has imported natural gas to the amount of $160.28 million. The remaining part of gas deliveries falls to Russia and other sources.
The volume of Georgia’s natural gas import from Azerbaijan increased by 20.9% a year (by 46,076 tons in oil equivalent).
From January to May 2013 Georgia has imported from Azerbaijan 638,076 tons in oil equivalent to the amount of $110.71 million.
Specific weight of gas in total volume of Georgia’s import from Azerbaijan constituted 53.7% during this period.
From January to May 2014 Georgia has imported from Azerbaijan products to the amount of $249.02 million.—0—
